FINALE was an original lighting installation designed to bring energy and vibrancy to Marriott’s new Innovation Lab—the world’s first Live Beta Hotel at Marriott City Center, Charlotte, USA. While creating a dynamic presence was key, the installation was designed to complement the space rather than serve as a direct light source.

The goal was to develop a piece that would captivate guests and hold a significant visual presence within the space. The installation features hand-blown fluted glass elements, introducing an organic quality that contrasts with the precise engineering behind its structure. Advanced computer modelling was used to design the rigging and conduct stress analysis, ensuring both aesthetic impact and structural integrity.

FINALE was recognised with a darc award for Best Hospitality Lighting, highlighting its contribution to the project and its innovative approach to large-scale lighting design.
